TPLO Incision Care After SurgeryTrack the recovery of your pet below.
- You must prevent your pet from licking or chewing the incision site. Licking or chewing at the incision may cause premature removal of the sutures and/or incisional site infection, both of which may require a second procedure to repair. Unless otherwise instructed by your veterinary surgeon, an E-collar must be in place at all times when your pet is not under your immediate supervision.
- It is completely normal for swelling to develop around the ankle approximately 3-5 days following surgery on the leg the TPLO was performed on. This swelling can be massaged if it occurs. It will go down over the course of a few days.

"Despite how much anxiety we had about this surgery, Dr. Wignall made us comfortable with the entire process and ultimately, we couldn't have asked for better care. Thank you Dr. Wignall"
"Excellent care for my labrador! He had a torn ACL and the surgeon was great about giving me detailed information. The staff behind the front counter were polite and efficient."
